Frequently asked questions
The cost of a renovation depends on several factors, including the size and scope of the project, the materials selection and the design idea. We provide an estimate after site visit and
evaluating the changes and scope of work.
The timeline depends on the complexity of the project and the scope of work. A small bathroom renovation may take a week, while a larger project, like an addition, could take several months. Design and procurement are not included in the actual renovation timeline on site.
Most major renovations, such as structural changes, electrical updates, plumbing work, or additions, require permits. A contractor can advise you on which permits are necessary and handle the paperwork with local authorities.
This depends on the extent of the renovation. For small projects or single-room updates, you can typically stay in your home. However, for larger projects (like full kitchen or major bathroom remodels), it may be more convenient to move out temporarily, especially if safety or accessibility is compromised.
Renovations like kitchen and bathroom upgrades, fresh paint, energy-efficient improvements, and exterior enhancements (adding a deck, landscaping) often offer the best ROI. It’s important to consider what’s in demand in your local real estate market.
In many cases, you can stay in your home during a renovation, but it may be disruptive depending on the scope. For major renovations that affect essential areas (e.g., kitchens or
bathrooms), temporary relocation might be advisable to avoid noise, dust, and lack of functionality.
Start by researching local contractors, checking reviews, and asking for references from past clients. Ensure the contractor is licensed, insured, and experienced in the type of renovation
you need. A clear contract, detailed project plan, and open communication are essential.
Together we will create a detailed budget and breakdown, including materials, labor, and contingencies for unexpected issues. Clients should stick to the budget by avoiding last-minute
changes or upgrades.
Yes, changes can usually be made, but it may affect the cost and timeline of the renovation. We recommend discussing potential changes with us as during the design and planning stage.
Before renovations begin, clear the work area of furniture and personal items, and protect other parts of your home with tarps or covers. Ensure you have easy access to essentials if certain areas (like the kitchen or bathroom) are being renovated.
It doesn’t affect the renovation work, but we prefer to communicate any special concerns of you pets or dog specific needs in advance.
It is important to check on line for Kitchen ideas and designs before you contact a PRO or inquire a quote for your new Kitchen, however we start with a Space Plan of your new Kitchen before we start material selection.
Having a Budget in mind is a good thing to know, next would be to share your Budget with other cosmetic elements for a New Look such as the backsplash.
